Burnout 5, main focus on PS3 version

The Criterion team said that the PS3 version will have 1080p, and the SIXAXIS controller will provide more control options that the 360 doesn’t have. Imagine steering your crashed car with your SIXAXIS. Just thinking out loud.

Also the PS3’s advanced processing capabilities are perfect for the many physics intensive crashes in Burnout 5. Both versions will feature camera support during game play.

Criterion’s director of design, Alex Ward assured Gamepro that Burnout 5 (a working title only) will still be the racing game so many have come to love. “Burnout has always been about driving like a madman through traffic, and that hasn’t changed at all.” But, he said, “if we just made Burnout Revenge again on the PS3 and Xbox 360, no one would be satisfied with that-least of all us. [Burnout 5] is still based on the premise of driving like a maniac and crashing your car. But it’s got some significant differences.”

That difference would be one seamless racing world instead of separate courses. It turns out this one city is the size of 15 regular Burnout courses.

All i want to see right now is some ingame footage on both formats

Err where does that say main focus on PS3 version? It says the SIXAXIS will be used, well duh. It will have 1080p, doesnt say xbox 360 won't.

The advanced GPU of the Xbox 360 allows the cars to look 8 bajillion times better on the microsoft system than the ps3 version.

I know what you mean this is why i said.... all i want to see right now is some ingame footage on both formats to see if there is any diffrence in the 2 versions

Just wait for the reviews... if the PS3 version has 1080p exclusively then that'll probably be my choice.

I'd take 720P and twice the frames per second any day of the week... well at least if this game follows the current 30fps trend of PS3/360 games.

SIX-AXIS is hardly an advantage... it's not going to make me want to buy the Playstation3 version over the Xbox360 version.
I was thinking "imagine using Six Axis to control your crashed car".. and then i was thinking.. yes i can imagine that.. i can imagine that it wont do whatever i want it to..

i'll be taking the 360 version simply for LIVE, Burnout Revenge was awsome on LIVE and seeing that voice chat on the PS3 is basically rubbish atm thats what i'll be doing

Heh yeah. My thought was 'I'd turn that off in the options before I even have a race' :(

I'll wait for the reviews before deciding which version to get but it'll more than likely be the 360 version.

I was thinking " How much control do you have over a crashed car? Surely it travels along the course physics dictates"

Also the 360 is capable of using the GPU to perform Physics calculations very impressively (obviously at the cost of graphical performance)

So this article is rubbish and tbh "If I was a mod" this thread would be closed if not locked for being complete rubbish.

On burnout you have "aftertouch" like in football games

You haven't played Burnout then? :p

Who cars about the six axis, 360 owners get rumble which I would rather have, especially with a game with explosions and crashes.

Agreed.

Sixaxis in Motorstorm is horrible.. I can't see anyone wanting that as a "dealbreaker" factor between the two formats!

For a game like Burnout the Sixaxis should work very well for aftertouch. When I played it on the 360 (Burnout Revenge) I found myself instinctively moving the controller during aftertouch mode. Should make the crash Party events interesting as they focus mainly on aftertouch.
