18 days to go.

It's the first Burnout on PC ever! We're pushing accessibility, visuals and control in the greatest Burnout package yet.

That's right - in February 2009 we're bringing Burnout Paradise to the PC with the release of Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box.

It's the original blockbuster console game, including all the amazing FREE downloadable content we've released ever since - all in one beautiful package and for the first time on PC!

Our free updates feature new online game modes, motorcycles, day / night gameplay, dynamic weather, the Burnout Paradise Party Pack and a news page bringing you all the latest Burnout news. And we want to give as many people as possible the chance to experience Burnout Paradise, so we're creating a trial version of the game.

We'll release more information on this at a future date.

Great control and finessed vehicle handling have always been a trademark of the Burnout franchise, which is why we're working on fully configurable controls and adjustable analogue settings for a wide range of possible controller setups - keyboard, pads, wheels and joysticks.

With Burnout Paradise PC, you can also look forward to enhanced visuals. We'remaking use of high-end graphics cards for higher resolution, new effects and a Burnout experience that's configurable across multiple monitors for super widescreen play.

At last, an arcade racer better than the aweful GRID.

I'm not getting my hopes up for this game untill people have played it, we have a few bad console ports of late. This is published by ea, the same people who published need for speed undercover and the same people who said pc couldnt handle next gen fifa.

Its not a straight up port.

Criterion Studios have worked hard on this.

Is out today for those who pre-ordered the EA Digital Download.

If only E.A had a grasp on ANYTHING. If they said for £30 you'll get the game 3 days early via digital download AND we send you the DVD after release date, I would have gone for that RIGHT AWAY which would have meant more cash for E.A but as they didnt, I await my DVD pre-order :)

Just cancelled my pre-order after seeing these screenshots. WOW it looks really poor graphically. Car models look great but the rest of it looks like a dated PS2 game to me. Its obvious how they got the high FPS as the gfx are not very impressive. Textures look terrible so bland and low res plus the lighting choices and polygon count on the backgrounds is shocking. Overall design just looks bland & very uninspiring to me. Who cares if it does 60FPS when it looks this poor. PC is capable of so much more

?

Personally, I think that is a little harsh.

It in no way looks bad in my opinion.

I'd rather they took this route than the GTA IV, QUAD Core Behemoth PC one. Although this was good for us, its just another nail in the coffin for PC gaming when at the moment, its actually recovering very nicely.

Has anyones pre order been dispatched yet?

I believe a Jersey etailer is shipping their pre-orders.

I pre-ordered from a certain "bricks and mortar" high street game shop and my order status is "pending". Anyone know how their pre-orders work?

I did get an email today saying my order was now being "processed".

They guarantee release day delivery although I selected 2 day delivery and its not been posted yet.. getting worried as REALLY am looking forward to playing this.

In Feb '09, the demo will be available from www.criteriongames.com and www.ea.com, but we'll also be distributing millions of disks. Once it's installed, you don't need the disk to play, so you're free to share it around. To get the most out of the demo, try out Burnout Paradise online with your friends. We'll bring you more info on where to obtain your FREE trial in the run up to the release in February.

fairly sure that from what i have seen & read at various "sources" you DO NOT require an official version to play online. (NOTE - i am not encouraging or saying you should do it!!!)

Various sites are saying that you will have people playing online with cracked copies as there is no online protection

I hope this is not the case.

This is a game published by E.A were talking about, off all the publishers who would do something as stupid as this, E.A is not one of them :)

I regard EA as one of the worst publishers around. For starters, their newer games (eg. Mirror's Edge, Mass Effect) are available all around the world on Steam, except for the UK. A few miles across the river in Ireland, you can buy EA games on Steam, but over here, we can't.

I know bashing EA is the 'in' thing to do, but by god do they deserve it.

uvmain - I think (maybe) you misunderstood what I was trying to say going by what you quoted?

I was saying that it would be "Unlike" EA as a publisher to allow online play with ZERO verification, this would go against all their previous releases anyway.

On this occassion, I believe it would be wrong if they didnt.

WOW - I am impressed.

I installed the new EA downloader, entered my product key and it added the game much like how STEAM does so whatever happens to my Burnout disc, I can allways download it from EA :)

Also, I think someone at EA has **** themselves.. NO INTRUSIVE DRM !!!!!!

I downloaded the Demo/Trial - Entered my product key and thats that.

No need for the CD in the drive, No securom, No Install limits - WHATS GOING ON - My Brain cant take it in?

Also, the online play is Tied to your EA ID via the serial (I think).
