Burnout Paradise - The Ultimate Box

Console version is cheap as its been out for over a year now. They are just getting a re-release with a few extra bits which were previously released after the actual game. For the PC its obviously a new release and we get everything the consoles get plus the best technical experience.

I'm really looking forward to this! I used to play Burnout 3 I think it was on Xbox Live far too much! I play most of my games on my PC nowerdays so to see this released on PC is great. :D

hmmm, £26.99 and you get to play it 3 days before official release ...

And yet still more than the boxed version as usual. And let's be honest 3 days early is more like just 1 or 2 day(s) early as most decent retailers ship early. :D

whilst its a £1 or £2 more than a retail boxed version for many like myself who dont want boxes and dvds its actually a fair price for a change. Gettting the game a few days early is also a nice bonus so its a good alternative .. not all postal pre-orders arrive early and in some cases arrive late  ... think ill be grabbing this digitally

But if you lose the install, you'll have to pay for it again. EA have the ****est Digital Distribution service ever, it's a bag of **** compared to Steam.

I've bought my last 73 games from Steam, and Burnout is the first boxed copy I've ordered.. ever. I'd rather install from DVD than use EA's distribution service.

i have 85 games in my steam list, and like i stated at the top of the page i dont care for EA's version of digital purchase due to problems ive personally had, plus the total lack of Customer service they offer..

however regardless of the problems their offer is actually quite decent and another alternative for some that might want to grab it early.

also when i loaded up the client for EA downloads i noticed that all my old games that i never took out the extended download service for where available to download and install again ??? has something changed ? anyone else able to download expired games ?

silly me
demo is due for download on 9th
nice of them to offer try b4 u buy
when the actual game playable if you digitaly download it ?

I didn't know this! So if your hard disk conks out you've lost all your games?

I can't say for 100%, as I don't use the EA service - but it definately used to be the case (unless you payed an extra fee for download 'protection').

Being that the screenshot above says £3.00 for "Extended Download Service", I assume this is still the case.

If Steam started doing this, there'd be a massive uproar - it amuses me that EA think they can scrounge every last penny out of their customers.

I'm glad there's a demo of this because I'm really not sure I'm gonna like the way you can choose your own route to the finish, rather than having a set route like all the previous Burnout games. In such games, like Midnight Club, I always find myself staring at the little map for half the time to navigate my route, rather than just enjoying the racing. If you take a wrong turn and have to turn around it can be frustrating. I really hope this game won't be like that.
