vistaprint are shocking and also have employed some dodgy tactics in the past ( google for them subscribing peoples card details to monthly subs etc, happened to my gf )
another vote here for printing.com, very good price and the quality is simply brilliant. Also you get the local touch of being able to go in and discuss it all
These are the double sided with spot gloss from printing.com, always get comments on them and were relatively cheap (i think it was about £120 for 2000 of them)

I used GoodPrint recently for a small number of business cards. They are pricey, but i went for the thickest laminate ones which look and feel nice.
Would avoid Vistaprint unless opting for one of their higher quality card sets. I had a few that turned yellow in just a couple months.
