Well I've been dragged out of the office yet again, off to Dubai on business for 4 days, will be staying at the Crowne Plaza right opposite our office in the Dubai trade centre.

I hope to get the business side of things out the way ASAP, what should i go look at and what should i do, the hotel looks totally amazing and offers everything, even a MOS DJ in the club!

But since i've never been before is it alright just to walk out and about or will I risk getting shot :p

Dubai at this time of year will be very very hot, we are talking close to 45C (which will generally mean you can't just walk around)

Of course it is. Remember to walk out naked and drunk with some 40 year old strippers, in one hand a copy of the Koran, the other a sausage roll.

You'll be fine.

Sounds like a plan - searches e-bay for items listed above.... :p

Yep the heat is going to be a killer, worst i've been in was 40c and that was bad enough!

Wait till you REALLY travel for work before you start complaining  :p

Dubai's all right - a bit boring, but still a decent enough place to be. At least you'll be able to chill out in the pool in the evenings. :)

You won't get shot - it's a really safe place to be. :)

went at the begining of april and stayed in the same hotel :D was very very nice , i have to recomend the desert safari its just so awesome and the BBQ in the evening was fantastic! also emirites mall was very overpriced so i wouldnt bother tbh. Wild Wadi is great! but you really need to be with mates to enjoy it! i have to recomend Al Fahidi street more commonly known as Computer road :D

and be prepared to see lots of S class , Porche Cayenne , Ferrari 360 and VW Toerags in the business distrcit! i saw a lot of BMW M6's as well :D

Cheers for that good info :)

You won't get shot lol. Business trips do indeed suck, if they're anything like mine you won't get much chance to see anything other than the office or the hotel room.

If you do get chance though I strongly recommend heading into the old part of Dubai around the creek, rather than the utterly soul-less new parts like Jumeirah.

Speaking of buisiness trips - anybody want to swap jobs for a while? I'd love to spend more than 4 months in the UK a year... :(

I will be more than happy doing your Monaco leg ;)

Add me to MSN mate when you get chance, need to chat about the motor at some point :)

I'd love not to. It wasn't until I came back here for a protracted period that I realised how much of a hole the place had become.

But job swap? I think not. I might actually have to start doing some work again, and that isn't in the game plan. :D

P.S if your flying on Emirates, my ticket was only a Business class one , but because i had a meeting almost 2 hours after landing i went in my suit , got me upgraded to first :D just a tip ;) oh and i flirted with the check in lady somewhat considerably :p
