Hi all, been a while since I've been in here. ;)

Now at the moment I have a reasonably well specced PC that I built for gaming. The problem is I cant remember the last time I played any games on it, and I only ever seem to use it for the internet. So I thought about splitting/selling it and get something cheap to just use for internet use. A good mate of mine has replaced his laptop with a better model and has offered his old one to me.

Spec:

PIII 1GHz
128MB Memory
10GB Hard Drive
ATI Radeon Moblity 16MB Graphics
Licenced copy of Win2K

Also it's got a 1 month old battery (He's also giving me the old one) and a Lucent Orinoco Gold wireless card.

He's after £70 for the lot. Sounds like a good deal to me, what you lot think though?

If I was to have it, I'd be spending a bit extra on a memory upgrade to 512MB and an 80GB hard drive and installing XP.

Cheers. :)

That's a nice deal, parts are very easy to get hold of, and it's not too hard to make the wireless internal since it's already got antennas fitted.

You'd be wanting some more ram though, but the c610 wouldn't be picky about ram like the C600 was, you can use any old pc133 sodimm memory.

You can get new Dell PCs (with monitor) for £235, or a laptop for £327. More expensive than your option there I know, but it seems like you'd be getting a better machine by spending just a bit more.

Just throwing ideas out there though. :)
