Buying a 2nd hand EOS 40D £400 to spend

what do you mean by "not settle"

You've lost me ?

Don't just buy one because it's available if you're not happy with it. Wait for the right one :) - They pop up all the time. Saw 3 40D's on there in the past week iirc.

IE - Wait for one thats got a lens, box, manuals, looks mint, can show sample shots taken with it etc etc.

See, honest :)

Don't get that though. I would pay probs about £340 for that tbh. No lens, box or manual? No ta :)

Just keep mashing that F5 button :)

Thats the one I'm selling!

If your worried about the faint marks on the back, I can try and take some shots of the back. And also the dust on the sensor is ever so light. Can do a few test at F11+ at a wall and you can see for youself.

Ok....

And I'm saying I wouldn't buy it for that price. Theres nothing wrong with it, the dust on the sensor can be cleaned easily enough, but for just a body with nothing else which has be replaced by the 50D and 60D I wouldn't pay more than £350 if it was me :)

You've been honest in the sale which everyone can see so thats the best thing :) - people know exactly what they are buying.

When I bought my 40D new without a lens that was £500ish, so £110 price drop in 2 years? Na.

No doubt someone WILL buy it though, if you're willing to wait.

I know where your coming from, Its been up for a couple of days and really could shift this out soon. Might drop the price or throw in a 50 F/1.8 mkII with if it foyur interested MrLOL

As a few has said, getting just a 50mm is quite limited. Wouldn't just get that as my only lens.

I will be selling my 40D with 50mm f1.8, Sigma 10-20mm and Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 real soon, keep your eye out on MM this week. :)

Don't have a kit lens, can only sell it with that I have :) As I said earlier in the thread, it's not as flexible as a zoom obviously, but I used the prime over the kit zoom when I had a 500D. It wasn't until I got a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 that I started to use the zoom a bit more. No worries :)

The EF-S 18-55mm IS kit lens is not so terrible and you'd feel too limited with a 50mm f/1.8 if it's your only lens and it's your first SLR.

Going to have to second that, just went from Fuji S200EXR bridge camera to 20D with 50mm 1.8 and I already miss the flexibility to be able to adjust the zoom levels.
