Buying an XJ tomorrow

16mpg ...ouch, that's the sort of figure I'd expect from the supercharged one tbh, unless you do a lot of short trips around town in it. I get about 25-26mpg on average, 32mpg on a good long run which is the same as the V8 I had before, actually on a long motorway cruise I could routinely get 1mpg more out of the V8 ...every time on the same route.

I just went to fill my "gentleman’s conveyance" up with Shell's finest, 95 pounds bar a few pennies they relieved me off!

I wait with eagerness for this hydrogen based fuel that is supposed to run in a regular petrol engine and cost 16p a litre, 60p after taxes ...sounds a bit too good to be true though to cynical me.

I live in the city center and do a lot of shortish journeys. I drove it to Chester the other day and got 26mpg which isnt bad I suppose.
