Buying on interest free

just wondering, when you buy something on interest free and theres an "optional 10% deposit" why bother with the deposit? if you pay it are you more likley to be accepted than if you didn't..? (obviously it reduces the loan amount by 10%) Just wondering as i've never used interest free before...

Seems a bit of a strange one to me if it is a genuine interest free purchase.

Credit is so easy to get these days that unless you have a bad history I can't imagine you would have much problem buying without the deposit if it is optional.
