Buying Tickets for Sold Out Gigs on Ebay

i did it for David grey.... yes david grey a friend of mine wanted to go so i got it her for christmas prezzy and i had no problems what so ever

Hunted down few "last day before it's undeliverable" deals below nominal price. Our last tickets, to see Peter Gabriel were 4th row from the stage. Concert of a lifetime. At £17 per head.... bargain...

Got tickets for Corrine Bailey Rae (who was great) and going to see Robbie Williams in Dublin in June, both sourced from Ebay. The Corrine Bailey Rae tickets was only about £5 over face, the Robbie tickets were about £30 over face but both were sold out so the premium is justified IMHO.

I wouldn't buy them as it supports the dirty touts who are responsible for gigs selling out in minutes.
Not when I buy them it doesn't, since I don't buy tickets for gigs that would have much of a premium if they did sell out. I managed to snag three tickets for about £24 delivered next day (day of the gig) for Biffy Clyro, whereas buying them normally would have cost £60. It was ace too.

The only gig I've been to that required getting tickets on Ebay was Arcade Fire, last year, and it was unmissable. Had no problems whatsoever. Have some friends who had to buy tickets to Leeds fest last year on ebay, and other than paying extortionate prices, had no problems.

iam against it, and i think it should be baned. last year when U" were playing Dublin, the offered the tickets to people in there fan base a few days before they went onsail to the public. this resulted in a lot of so called fans buying dublin tickets and then selling them on ebay days before the official release date and when i did a rought count there was enough tickets for one whole show (they played 3 shows in dublin)
now given this is there home town.
the venue they picked wasn't that big (there were bigger)
they always sell out in dublin

all the people in the usa and other places who bought the advance tickets knew they be able to sell them on via ebay and make a nice profit, while true fans who supported them before they were famous got screwed over.

had they not been able to sell on ebay they they would never have bought them to sell on

An old friend of mine purchased tickets for a Metallica concert a few years back. We were very selective about which auction to bid on, there were loads of seating tickets around if I can recall correctly, we wanted to stand, and we did in the end. So, my experience of buying sold out concert tickets was a good one, you'll just have to suffer financially.

You shouldn't have too much hassle.
Personally I refuse to do it.
I will not pay the scum who stopped me getting tickets at face value (a fan) just because he wanted to make a few £ for doing **** all.

Thankfully I've got a fiancee who feels the same way.
So if/when we do fail to get tickets for those gigs we might really have wanted to see, yes it is annoying, yes it is disapointing however I don't have another half expecting me to pull out all the stops (and pay whatever) to secure those tickets.

Ive bought quite a few actually. Richard Ashcroft next Friday to name one :D

And while Im not a tout, Ive also sold a few on ebay as well. Buying them for friends that cant go or work commitments that have meant I cant make it. Not everyone on ebay is dodgey but check feedback just incase.

I've bought tickets from Ebay once or twice.

The last time was for Rush in Glasgow for the UK 2004 tour, I guess I bought about 1 week before the concert, and paid very little over the ticket asking price, if not the asking price, cant remember? Of course 1st class recorded delivery next day was demanded allowing for delivery time.

Those Rush Tickets sold out in a day or two 9 months before the concert, as I recall? But I guess I got a last minute ticket from some poor soul who finally realised they couldn't make it for one reason or another?

My latest price watch on Ebay is for David Gilmour's tour, again for a Glasgow ticket, so far the exploit entrepreneur's are asking silly money, these original tickets sold out in 1 hour for the whole UK tour, and now get in excess of £200 each on Ebay. Goes without saying, check the sellers feedback score before bidding.

I *think* its about 2 weeks or so until the Gilmour Glasgow concert? Some folk are bound to realise they cant make it at the last minute and put the ticket up on Ebay. That's what I'll be looking for, if they can do next day recorded delivery at a reasonable price, I'll be there for the concert.

One last tip is to call the official ticket agency or venue itself, often ****-ups are made and last minute tickets can be had for original selling prices, though I guess the entrepreneur's are aware of this fact now as well?

Good Luck.
