Take one Ixus430 with cracked screen that I was given for nothing.

Dismantle

Add replacement screen £35.25 (I think the packaging must have cost £30 of that

)

Combine with genius (nerve wracking) to pruduce one fully working camera.

Total cost £35.25

Yes the screen is made by sony. Interestingly though when I first rang to order the screen the guy said that Canon actually used 2 different makes of screen in the ixus 430 and I had to dismantle the camera to find out whether mine was a sony or non-sony before I could order.

I was quite pleased - I didn't have any parts or screws left over after putting it back together
