Bye bye Mr Venables?

I'm not sure I do want him to stay, but who could be brought in to replace him?

I think that it's a consistency thing that is required now. Some matches we play brilliant in patches (West Ham 1st half, Hapoel Tel Aviv) and others we get overrun by lesser opposition (West Ham 2nd half, Bolton, Sheff Utd).

If matches were only 80 minutes long, we'd be top 4!

I don't think this is all Tel's fault, but if he can't motivate the players and get them concentrating and working for eack other like DOL did, then he's not the right man for the job.

To be honest, I can't see why O'Leary was sacked in the first place. He seemed to be doing a good job...seems to me as if Tel messed things up rather than improving them...maybe McCarthy could patch things up...who knows.

It was O'Leary we had matey, though O'Neill of the Martin persuasion would certainly be welcome at ER :)

McCarthy would also be fairly welcome too. He did very well with what he had and wouldn't take crap of even the most important players when he was with ROI. He was also up front to the press about goings on, which I like. He's also a Yokshireman so he's a star anyway :D

I'm not good with names ;)

I like McCarthy, he is the boss and if you don't like it - good bye :)

Some of your players need this sort of skipper, esp. a certain Ozzie boy ;)

I agree with your feeling on McCarthy, thats why I like him.

Which Aussie is that then? Viduka is the one that needs the kick up the bum but I'm guessing you're talking about kewell? Tel is employing him in the incorrect way. Barmby needs to be put down and Kewell needs to play on the left, with Wilcox at left back and Bowyer on the right, with Dacourt and Batty in the middle of the park.

A Leeds fan on the radio tonight was having a go at some Leeds fans too, at 2-2 Duberry comes on and some fans boo him onto the pitch -hardly helping the cause i would have thought.

I was talking about Viduka ;)

I can imagine him and a back-from-injury-and-100%-fit-Fowler scoring 20 goals/season between them...but only if someone like McCarthy kicks the lethargy out of them.

Kewell is a good left winger, or maybe even striker, agree on that, Barmby is a good substitute for central midfield, not sure why he bothered with him in the first place though.

I see the point the guy was trying to make - that it is better to support whoever turns out for your team, if you don't think they're good enough, make sure you spur them on to play better! But if the fans don't make their opinions known at the match, how else can they?

But when a player comes onto the pitch? Sure if someones playing poorly, the fans giving em a bit of jip is understandable, but not even giving them a chance - i thought he'd played well mid week too.Mind ,i doubt Dubeery getting booed has much to do with football anyway -and possibly the reason for Leeds present situation -too much baggage.

Why do managers insist on playing players outta position? i mean kewell should be on the wing where he can do a helluva a lot better than no, then we houllier playing heskey on the wing, i mean ffs hes crap up front how is he gonna do any better there :)

I still think getting rid of Keane was wise. Then again yous were overrun with strikers.

Yeah, at that point we had Fowler fit, Smith playing, Viduka playing, Kewell playing (though he should be employed as a winger) and Bridges coming back to fitness. Add Keane to that and you've got too many players.

getting rid of venables could also result in disaster. If a new manager is brought in the players would have to get used to yet another manager and his ways, how long could this take untill things level out? ATM i think he should stay with a very strict warning from the chairman and board. He will also have to change his tacktics i feel obviously the current ones are not working for him or the team. I have to say that i do find it weird looking at the second half of the table and finding leeds there. the should be within the top 8 atleast considering how much of a prosperous young team they were a few years ago.

I'm not entirely sure that Ridsdale will be Chairman come January.

He's achieved a lot, but he's had a terrible year.

He is standing for re election though this month is it not? Which means not long to wait to find out.

Indeed he is. What I meant was that he may not be chairman of leeds united come transfer time. But the result will not be out until December sometime.

Gilly I actually meant to say Getting rid of Keane was not wise. But then again When you have Smith coming on leaps and bounds and a world class play like Viduka as well as Kewell being able to play up front, although I think he should not be used as a central striker then there is a lot of strikers.
