Cadburys advert - ape is PC?

Saw it last night.... don't know what their advertising agency were thinking with that one, but it definitely doesn't work in persuading me to buy their chocolate.

Marketing is not just about getting a brand/product known (who the hell doesn't know Cadbury?), but also about selling it. People can talk all they want, but that's not necessarily going to get them any more customers or sales.

Dislike that advert so much, chuck some bloke in an ape suit and make him pretend hes drumming.... way to blow budget.

Sorry how does that "blow budget"? They could put any unknown drummer in the suit and it would work, they could probably make that on a shoe string, they would only have to pay royalties.

Considering the ad is 1 and half minutes long, I'd say the budget is bigger then you think!

If you look at the ad on the cabury site there is a "come again" link

http://www.aglassandahalffullproductions.com/?CMP=RAC-cadhpg

which results in

Drumming gorillas, Phil Collins and Glass And A Half Full Productions?

Well it just seemed like the right thing to do. There's no clever science behind it - it's just an effort to make you smile, in exactly the same way Cadbury Dairy Milk does. And that's what we aim to continue to do; simply make you smile. So if a drumming gorilla's not enough, wait until you see what else we have up our sleeves.
