Fed up with dark images i am going to get my calibration sorted. I have some questions.
I had a Spyder in the past but i didnt like the calibrated settings on my then lcd - it worked very well on a Sony CRT but very poorly on an LCD. I have an intel imac for main use - has anyone used a Spyder 2 sucessfully on this lcd based machine ?
Next question. With most prining being done with sRGB profiles how do people set up their camera and software ? Being old skool and wanting the full gamuit i have always shot in AdobeRGB and worked in the same colourspace with sRGB proofing. I would particually like to know how people who use photobox have their cameras and software setup.
Finally i have a 6x4 printer by Canon and its miles out but it doesnt let me assign a colour profile to it - i assume because it doesnt have native intel driver. There simply is no option to assign a profile or adjust it at all - changes have little to no effect - i can only assume it is prinitng to its own inbuilt sRGB profile. I am happy to buy another 6x4 printer (its only for proofing and test prints) would prefer dyesub but mainly one that actually works with intel macs properly !!
Any input from anone, esp people who either use similar equipment or print lots with photobox or anyone who prints lots and has gone down the calibration route would be most grateful.
