Call of Duty 2

I loved COD2's CTF mode. Best multiplayer game mode I ever played in a online multiplayer shooter.

I was an absolute monster at it. Unless you ran like Forest Gump IMMEDIATELY, there was no chance of catching me.
 
meh, I've just gone back to COD4, finding a decent server is a royal pita.

There are so many running some rubbish redirect mod that takes you to a random server, or servers with 200 player limits but you have to play as a box or a chair.

Being shot through a wall with an uzi from the other side of the map is rubbish too. Its an ok game, but I much preferred the original + add on. I must say though, it took me a couple of games to get back into it but I've already been banned from 2 servers and accused of cheating lots of times. Thankfully the clan server I do enjoy playing on know I don't cheat :) Nice to know the skills are still there.
 
Ah, Cod 2, now there are some good memories! One of the last games I felt didn't have to offer a leveling experience or in game perks to keep me entertained. I logged close to 2,000 hours on this game.

I just couldn't get enough of Search and Destroy.
 
COD+UO still my favorite game of all time. Single player was epically awesome and nothing like the "4 hour" completion time they are today.

Just loved the fact they did all the missions which no-one knew about (one of the reason I took the name Pegasus :D )
 
i tried playing cod 2 online recently, joined some dodgy server now all my menus and music have changed to some tacky modded thing? Dont know how to revert it. Seems every server starts downloads of stuff

New server is early days at the moment, but it's running custom maps, punkbuster, etc.
Pop along and have a shufty if you want. Players welcome on the server and TS.

Primarily objective based gameplay - with the occasional DM TDM for a bit of fun. You'll find it a slower paced server than the madness of the run&gun-empty-a-whole-clip-for-each-kill servers that are about (UN TDM servers spring to mind).

Some decent clan servers still to be had out there HGH amongst a few, 82nd AB are still going I think.

I was studying History GCSE and A Level, while playing the game. And I actually thought it was very educational and helped with my understanding of events during the war.
 
I liked cod2, and I remember playing cod3 with a bunch of friends splitscreen.
Cod4 was my favourite. Not touched cod since.
 
you guys are making me want to reinstall COD and UO that was also my favourite out of all of them

when i think about it it when it comes to single player the WW2 setting is the best

The hit reg on COD4 was worse than COD2. Sniping on COD4 was a joke. COD1 wasn't exactly a great launch either no PB servers crashing and people coming from MOH thought it was, in the main, rubbish. You are placing COD2 on par with the current crop of abortions?

COD2 had some very good maps and was better than WaW.

cod1/uo i prefered as you had to learn to aim with decent recoil.

cod 2 came in (launch games for xbox 360) and then you could one shot hipfire 44 machine guns across maps. snipers in cod 2 were like wind of bullet close killed you.

great for no scoping hipfire shots but just not the learning pattern of earlier games.

cod 2 mp is still better than most fps games now though. that's from someone who wasn't that fond of it.

cod4 sniping i liked . its all own preference at end of day :)
 
I didn't like COD4 it started the whole perks & reward over skill and ultimately enjoyment of just playing a game for playing a game not to play because you earn something.

While it wasn't excessive it did set the format for what we have now - Warcraft fps.
 
We still have an active COD2 server, 14+ players in the server on a weekend, we also have a very active COD4 server if you'd like to play with us some time, can give out the I.P. :)
