call of duty 4

Doesn't look that bad.
Still tbh would like ww2 much more.
Never the less, I'll still look forward to it, no game can match the intensity of CoD imo.

these clips seem like console versions tho....the guy cant aim which means joypad
The other clue being the "Press X to reload" dialogs that keep coming up. ;)

Looks pretty damn good though, I'm more impressed that I thought I would be. No doubt heavily scripted, as are all CoD games, but none the worse for it.

Are you not utterly sick of WW2 games? I know I am. Unless the game is doing something completely new (whatever that spy game by Pandemic is called), I just don't see the appeal in yet another D-Day landing, kill the endless waves of Jerry with your BAR/Thompson/Sten gun, storm Berlin and win the day for freedom, identikit WW2 FPS. That setting is one of the most overdone in all games.

I think ww2 has been truely milked out now, so many games on it time to move on.
And OMG it looks way better than bf2.

No, I love the ww2 timeline for games, no annoying seeking missiles, no annoying overpowered rubbish, no choppers, slow nice planes (no jets :D , at least not on mass scale ), just closeish combat, clasic arillery, good weapons, great tanks, not just boring m1a2 abrahams or t90's, but a lot of different awesome tanks, imo there could be 100's of more ww2 games, I'd never be sick of em, best timeline ever for combat.

WW2 game are still good fun for me. I still hold BF1942 in highest regards (compared to the rest of the series) and the CoD games are awesome.

I too can sometimes be wary of modern combat games but this one looks amazing. Can't wait to be firing the howitzer on that AC-130. Just preordered it myself, if this is anything like the older CoD games MP and SP will both be incredible.

WW2 has indeed been milked

But upcoming games like DarkestHour a mod for Redorchestra and 1944d-day look brilliant

Cod4 look ok, but that vid suggests console and that pistol sounds like a water gun

:p Do you think that may have something to do with BF2 being 2 years old.

I loved COD so i hope this is a Proper PC version made by those that made 1 & 2 & Not 3.

I looks at lots like the Rainbow 6 vegas. In the gamestyle and play, obviously different characters, but very similar. Will be making a purchase, and hoping there will be a demo coming soon ;)

looks a bit dissapointing to be honest. Is it just me or was the first call of duty more immersive than the second? I don't know why but it seemed to have more heart. I remember being genuinely sort of shocked when a team mate was killed and it all seemed more 'real'. Call of duty 2 just seemed like a run and gun fest that became a chore and so does this new one. One of the main reasons why the big war films were successful (saving private ryan/band of brothers/thin red line, black hawk down) was because they were genuinely harrowing and made you think, rather than ridiculously gung ho e.t.c.

Roll on a real sequel to call of duty 1.
