Call of Duty - Black Ops 7

I really enjoyed that open playlist on the beta, felt like I was playing COD again and not playing an algorithm for the first time in years. Only managed around 3/4 hours on the beta but it played well and all the maps seemed good. I'm not going to grab it at launch but definitely going to see around Christmas time.

My only worry is that the reduced SBMM approach will be temporary and as soon as they have a decent playerbase back playing again then they'll just switch it back on and pull the rug from under our feet.

Hi, I've just seen a key for BO7, it states 'XBOX/PC' - is this even a thing? I've never seen it before when buying a key? It's off Loaded, formally CDKEYS.
For £55 I might bite the bullet, as I'm getting very tired of everyone being a hacker in every match I play daily on MW3 :(

This is game is going to launch with matchmaking that has minimal skill consideration and there will also be no disbanding lobbies. Seems that Activision are very worried about BF6 stealing players from them.

Sounds promising. I finally got on the beta yesterday, and after tinkering with my controls and sorting out my loadouts, I performed well. Still some severe sweats playing, but such is life when you get old.

I was tempted by BF but as someone who only plays 6v6 and TDM, I'm not sure if its for me.

That reads to me like it's a Play Anywhere title, so your purchase is on Xbox & Windows Store. That said I'm guessing here.

Btw hackers on the PC, or Xbox version of MW3?

Good video from Ace summarizing his thoughts on the beta. Definitely agree with his points about matchmaking/persistent lobbies being the best news going into the full release as well as the maps being all really good with no stand out 'bad' maps. I also found that the amount of doors on the maps seemed super OTT but apparently that's being sorted.

Honestly the movement just makes me sad and feel like a boomer, never thought I'd see the day of preferring Battlefield over this.

I don’t mind the movement too much, I just wish there would be less of a reliance on sliding into gunfights.

Taking advantage of movement has always been a thing in COD games, drop shotting was instant in COD4 and jump shotting became more popular in BO1 when they soft nerfed drop shotting. I remember people still drop shotting in BO1 would just get headshot every time as they had the delay slower from standing to prone. I guess the current movement is a trend and perhaps it’ll move on from that.

Although I’m also 35 and have been playing COD games since I was 17 so probably a sign that the game has moved past me!

Tempted to grab the disc from Argos this Friday to try it out. Can always sell it if I don't end up liking it or if Activision end up going back on the SBMM changes. The open beta (following the SBMM change) was the most fun I've had on Call of Duty since 2020.
