Call of Duty Black Ops leaked sniping video

Gameplay > Graphics. ;)

Since the beginning of CoDs competitive gameplay, it's well known and common sense to strip the game of it's eye candy in order to gain advantages.

I've yet to meet someone who actually wins because they can jump the tinniest bit further due to a glitch. I've met hundreds, if not thousands of people online who insist they are so much better than everyone else because they are using a daft res at extreme Hz on their CRT with crappy settings.

I've yet to actually meet someone who is noticeably better at the game ONLY because they run low res.

People are good, or bad, res/settings make smeg all difference.

Yes, now and then theres a game with a setting like smoke which alters the view and a low settings can glitch and give you an advantage and yes, every now and then a game will come down to a single kill. There will also be games where low settings give you dense and bad quality smoke and high quality might let you see someone sooner as the smoke is more realistic and you can see further "into" the smoke than on a lower setting.

In reality if you have two teams playing, one playing to gain advantage of every glitch and one team thats just better, 99/100 times the better players win.

Assuming theres no glitch and you can see people fine no matter the settings, theres no advantage except in peoples minds. The few advantages there are, the odd higher jump at certain FPS, etc, etc, don't mean you win, they are incredibly minor advantages that make next to no difference.

I would say that 99% of the people that go around insisting the best players only play with crap settings, think they are much better than they are at most games. Its also worth noting the vast majority of said players also insist you can't be a pro if you play at anything above the lowest res available. Most people go on about res and speed and not settings, meh, couldn't care less. I play most games maxed out/as far as I can go performance wise and I've never had even the slightest issue, public, private servers, clan matches or against noobs.

on cod4 you gained huge advantagse by turning settings down. One example being snipers rolling around in grass in ghillie suits became instantly spotable from the other side of the map if you turned it down to the point of grass being barely textured.

Personally... I think the scope looks pretty awesome.

That was sarcasm right? The scope looks like any other out there and if you're talking of looking down the scope, that's a very simple black overlay.
I could think of more to say about the game that's better but, I don't really like it. :P

Don't marksmen breath out to fire, not breath in?

Breath in to steady themselves I thought.

As many have said but not elaborated, holding your breath is not done after intake, it is done after you have exhaled (not really holding anything) and for this example, you're lying on your stomach so you don't want lungs full of air to wobble on.

Maybe you need to respect forumers instead of causing arguments and being insulting.

He has a point though. He's talking about the fact that anyone who competes properly (For money not "lolol I won a clan game") pretty much nails their graphics in order to gain whatever advantage they can.

From UK2k4 I used to force player models to the ones that were biggest and easiest to spot for example (Among other things)

Quake4 forced super low res flat colour textures so that player models stood out at high speed (Aim and movement)

There are lots of ways to gain advantages with graphics. Even more so these days with fancy lighting effects and smoke every where.
