So not being able to go on holiday makes them a threat to us? erm im sure the lack of tourist money will hit them harder then it hits us..

Al Qaeda have lost the support of so many muslims in the last decade, yes there has been more interest in Islam by muslims and outwardly some people reflect that more in there mannerisms and sometimes there fashion sense but still most who are here are happily enjoying the western lifestyle and those in poorer muslim countries want to emulate them.

This is/was a war of cultures and the west is winning quite convincingly so far.
 
Won't happen. The pyramids were here long before the Abrahamic faiths appeared on the scene and are much older than what mainstream science says. They are also very important for the earth as an organism and provide it with vital energies humans no longer provide for the planet. Far more important than the few million people living near them.

If a few fanatics got even close to destroying the pyramids 'plagues' will come over the egyptian people that would make stories of Moses & the Passover look like childs play.

Unfortunately for the site it was not accessible to mass tourism. The pyramids will not be sestroyed on the say so of some nutter because Egypt's tourist industry is a big part of their economy.

I'd never be able to understand the depths of stupidity that must be whirling around the brain of any religious extremists. In my opinion you cannot even call them humans and their execution would be on par with putting down diseased dogs.

Timbuktu was, unfortunately it just takes a few idiots with guns to stop people and they can do what they like. Luckily the Pyramids would take a lot more work even if the story was true. However suggesting it is just a hoax is fine, except it may be way too close to the truth..
 
The destruction of the tombs in Timbuktu and this crazy idea about the Pyramids being destroyed are two very different things. The reason why the tombs in Timbuktu were attacks is because they contain the remains of Saints that the local Sufi Muslims venerate. They were attacked by militants that belong to a different denomination of Islam, Sunni Muslims following a Salafist ideology, that view the veneration of saints and their tombs to be idolatrous. That is why they were destroyed. One of the best way to view it is to think about what happened to Churches during the Reformation across Europe.

The Pyramids on the other hand are not worshiped by anyone and as far as I understand never were, they were build as tombs for the Pharaohs so they would be in the best position to gain access to the afterlife.
