Calorie intake

Here's a general question say you were eating 500-1000 calories less per day than your recommended intake.

BUT those calories came from crap like chocolate/crisps etc.

Can you still loose weight?

i.e. is that stuff only really bad for you if it's on top of what you already have?

Just out of interest really :) I'm guessing the answer is probably yes though
 
you would lose weight, but that weight could be muscle rather than fat (to an extent). meaning you will lose size but still look fat.

personally i would aim for a lesser bf% rather than less weight.
 
I've always wondered about this method. I talked to some people about eating only ice cream to maintain calories but working out. It would be interesting whether the lack of protein would cause you to lose muscle mass as some dont seem to require as much protein to maintain a certain size due to genetics.
 
You'd be on constant sugar rushes and crashes, you'd feel and look awfull and would be hungry more often than not.

No nutrients, vitamins, minerals, fibre and very little protein and EFA's.

and morba's right, you'd lose lots of muscle tissue, aswell as bone density and all kinds of other weird and not so wonderfull things. You'd be an absolute mess if you followed a diet like that for any length of time.

There's a reason someone hasn't made a million £££'s selling a book called the chocolate/crisp/ice-cream and coke diet... :p :D
