ive been quoted £90 for the cambelt (timing belt, same thing) to be done on my Volvo 740 Estate. Thats with everything, him suppying the cambelt, and fitting it.

I dont have a clue if this is good or not, it sounds ok to me but i thought id ask you experts :)

Cheers

I think we have all angles covered now!!! Thing is tho if the water pump is leaking... if the tensioners are worn... and it all goes baps up then you may as well not have had the cambelt done in the first place.

true. Looking at eurocarparts.com there is a number of timing belts available. along with water pumps, tensiors etc so im going to buy the parts and ask the garage to fit.

So which cambelt do i need. Eurocarparts.com shows this for the cambelts:

and this for water pumps:

Its a 1989 Volvo 740GLE Estate with a B230E 2.3 16v engine.

Seems a good price, tensioners dont always need done. I just needed the belt done when I got it changed, will change the tensioners next time though.
When I had my Mondeo belt changed the belt was in perfect condition, the tensioner hd almost cracked into 2 parts though!
