On Sunday I was at the Cambridge American Cemetery. *more info about the place here*

It's a staggering place. Absolutely silent. No birds about at all.

8938 memorials there for dead servicemen. 3812 gravestones and 5126 names on the Wall of the Missing

Got many photo's taken throughout the day - these are only a few that I've sorted out.

Anyway - some of these photo's are technically dire. But I like them.

please resize them flibster.. they are waaaaay to big for this forum...

800 pixels should be the max for a forum posted image imo...

Other than that, they look great. :)

Pretty good set of pictures, can't really offer any advice for most of them, I can't see any way to improve them really. The third shot seems a lot less sharp than the other pictures, and also the composition of it isn't that great, but what I would have suggested to improve it is what you had done in the second shot already.

Honestly, it's very hard to take in the shots when they are that big. I'm at 1280x1024 and half of them dont fit in my browser! As said i'd go for 800px as the largest width/height -- i prefer 700px myself, including borders. Speaking of borders, please dial it down a bit! :p

The shots are good, but they all seem quit soft. Some of them could have been made a bit more interesting if you'd have played around with dof -- shooting at a real wide open aperture on #5 and #11 might have worked. Although having said that, you clearly want to show the large number of graves, so maybe a larger dof like you have is more apt.

The Jewish grave one is a bit wonky too. I like those two.

Might just be me but the highlights seem blown slightly on the gravestones on 4, 8, 10 & 12. Have they had any post-processing carried out on them? As in pic 12 the leaves look to artificially coloured. I quite like the effect though. Looks quite oil painting like.
