I am after a camcorder that is both small, has great quality can take Memory cards and is around £150. Any ideas? Thanks

You won't find one that has all those features for that price.

Particulary on the quality front. Great quality camcorders cost a lot more that £150 (thyink £500 plus). Having said that, most camcorders around the £150 mark from well-known brands will be very similar so I would just have a play and pick the one that feels right in the hand.

Quoted for truth.

For that price, you will find that the output is good for recording memories and that's probably it. The gadget will be fun to use, but not particularly clever, either.

There are camcorders

Ah right, there are no camcorders available in that price range?

At this price there are heaps to choose from but they're all pretty much the same. They are not going to be anything other than basic, they will not have great stability features, they will not have great low-light performance etc.

So basicly it doesn't matter which one you pick, and you should just play with them in a store to find one you like holding and the button layout of.

For £150 you get little other than something that records video and sound and connects to a computer etc.

Sony HDRCX115EB High Definition Handycam Camcorder - Black

That the one?

Is it a good buy?

Personally I think it's wonderful and one of my best toys.
It's got around 8 levels of video quality and the quality is superb.
Sound recording is excellent and even my band doesn't distort it.
As soon as you open the screen the camera is ready to record within 2 seconds.
It's palm sized and fits in my pocket.
The camera isn't too bad and while in Egypt I didn't bother with my Sony camera and just used the camcorder instead however I'm not as fussy as everybody in this forum.
I recorded an NHS award winning film with a Sony camcorder that was just up from this model and everybody thought it was done by professionals with professional equipment.

Yes I rate it.

I really don't know but I'm a fanboy of Carl Zeiss len's because they've always give me good results.
If you can get the sony for £199 then snap their hand off.
The cheapest I've seen it for is £289.

You are right. I got the price wrong. £289 is the cheapest.
