Camcorder purchase advice

I would appreciate some advice from you guys on camcorders - and I really don't know much about them...

I've been asked to look at video recording in-house presentations (indoors, low light environment with a presenter and usually a powerpoint type presentation going on too) and uploading them, after editing, onto our intranet.

I'm not looking for professional quality recordings, but I suspect that £150 camcorder may not be sufficient for the job! I would like suggestions for which camcorder I should suggest to management and any advice on good editing software and uploading would also be appreciated!
