Ahoy!

Myself and my mates are thinking of travelling down to Cornwall for a week later in the summer, and to be honest we have no idea where we ought to stay.

The obvious places are Haven and Butlins et al, but they're not exactly our sort of thing...

We're looking for good campsites in nice prime locations with plenty of interesting things to do. Anybody got any ideas?

Near a beach of some form would be ace.

Cheers all!

When you say things to do, do you mean within the campsite, or withing a fair distance of it?

iv been road tripping round cornwall twice with about 5 weeks in total, between 6-10 of my mates, just hit the road, get yourself cool call signs, cb radios and you will stumble across campsites in nearly all towns and villages, we never had to look that hard and Iv done the entire cornish coast, great place !

light the fires and burn the tires ! awoooohoooooo :D

We have a seasonal (easter till october) pitch in st Agnes but if your not into walking and just surfing you may be better off in Newquay for all its faults or a good compromise is perranporth (haven have a site there, walked the dogs there the other week) all depends what you want to do

Would highly recommend this one http://www.stivesbay.co.uk/ been there loads of times and the camp itself is actually built in the sand dunes and is literally a stones throw away from the sea.... walk down a path and your there! no travelling required.

We usually styay in a van but have camped here twice and the facilities and pitches for campers are great. Gets very busy in peak season so would book up now to be sure :)

Cheers

Chris

Was looking at perranporth. What's it like? Is it much of a town?

superb beach (its the one on seaside rescue) and very busy little town surrounded by sand dunes not too far from Newquay , just built a coop there thats quite handy. not sure if theres a nightclub there but some decent pubs especialy the watering hole actualy on the beach
