As the title states: Can a neighbour see my Wireless Shared Folders?

I have my Belkin Router set up with WPA2 security. I have 3 computers in the house working on the router. I have a shared folder on one computer, and this can be seen by the other two.

Unfortunately, today, I noticed that all the files had been deleted (Allow to change was set as one of the options in the Sharing Options of the folder).

How can I be sure I am safe? How can I check to see what happened to these files?

Regards,
Riiya.

Unless you set auditing on the folders you probably cant check. And if you have WPA2 then chances are they cant get onto your network unless they know your pass word

If its setup with WPA2 and a secure (non default) password then it would seem unlikely a neighbour has access - you should be able to see on the router the MAC addresses of any connected computers and match them to what you know - on many routers you can also MAC filter the wireless to just authorised machines help prevent anyone else getting in.

Yeah, unless they know the PW of the WPA2 they're not getting on it.

I'd check the DHCP client list, see who's been connected. If there's anything unusual on there you need to change your PW.

I checked the DHCP client list on the router via 192.168.2.1 etc, but even though my laptop is connected and my other pc is connected, the only MAC address listed as connected is this pc ...

That's strange.

In Network Connections I have the Wireless there, but there's also now an Internet Gateway connection listed as WAN Connection on F5D8236-4 v2 but disconnected. Never seen that before, but it is the name of my router.

I really don't get wireless haha!

Me neither. When i connect to wireless at home i get an internet gateway connection or some other connection that pops up. I really should check what it is but do enough IT stuff in the day at work.
I have left my sky router username and password the same and same password that came on the router. This should be same enough shouldnt it? Not like im sharing folders of bank details or anything.
