Can a Sub £200 graphics card beat my 8800GTX?

If you can get your hands on a 5850 for £200 or less, then go for a 5850. I haven't checked the prices recently, but as of last time they were around £210, which is too close to the GTX470 for my liking

8800GTX should be a bit faster than a GTX280 - 8800GT SLI was generally about the same performance as one. I'd say GTX470 would be perfect with your res and the first card up that would be a significant upgrade, a GTX460 probably wouldn't feel like you got your moneys worth as an upgrade tho its not a bad card - even today 8800GTX in SLI takes some beating.

I have one 8800gtx, considering the upgrade to 2 460 768mb's in SLI. I game at 1680 and that's where I feel best bang is right now. Gives better performance than a 480 for £230 ish. Do it. (and let me know how it goes so I can decide!)
