can anybody recomend me a good horror film ?

No one going to mention "The Thing"?

Probably the most enjoyable horror I've ever seen.

John Carpenters finest moment imo.

One of the things that I have always loved about The Thing (the remake) since the first time I saw it in 1982 was the theme music. So simple, yet so effective a piece of music.

Its also surprising how well the special effects stand up to time considering that its almost 30 years since it came out.

A masterclass in visual effects before everyone jumped on the cgi rollercoaster. I am spitting feathers at the news they are remaking it and curious at the same time to see how it turns out. *prays to the gods of old skool sci-fi thats it's awesome*

Hopefully the remake will be as good as the last remake

Also the chief guy that did the special effects was only 20 years old.

I have the Thing on DVD as it's in my top ten movies of all time list. The documentary on the dvd is well worth a watch if you like the film. :)

I think you should try watching some Asian horror ;)
I started watching korean and Japanease horror films not long ago and found them quite creepy.
Try watching 'Ringu' and 'The grudge'
Here's some more:

Audition- Bit messed up this one.
Grinder- Not watched this one but i heard it's just gory. It's also a Thai film i think.
Pulse- First Asian horror i watched and my fav so far. If you love ghost type horrors then watch this as it's just creepy.
Shutter- Another classic :)

Theres so many more and there are also some amazing thrillers out there too :)
Youtube for more ideas.
Hope this helps.

Thanks I love Asian Horror I think its the best. I like how scary things can happen during the day instead of only during the night which is a western cliche.

Ive see all the Ring's and Grudge aswell as the Eye but I havent seen the 4 you mentioned. I'll definatley check them out. :)

Yeah, I've seen them both. If you have the attention span to watch them together in one sitting it just feels like 1 long movie.

I enjoyed both films and having the dialogue in spanish added to the feel of the movies for me.

Ive Just watched REC 2 and I have to say that it's very good I loved the ending.

Its one of the best films ive seen this year.

If you cant stand subtitles then Quarantine is a good shot for shot remake of REC in english.... My GF at the time refused to watch "a poncy subtitled film" but loved Quarantine.

Just watched that Case 39. really creepy definatley worth a look.

Yeah good film, couple of bits had me jumping out of my skin ;)

+1

Definitely agree with this recommendation. This was the first movie for as far back as I can remember to have made me quite literally jump in my seat.

Yeah pretty jumpy jumpy, never helps when your girlfriends screams like a banshee and grabs your arm either, popcorn flew ;)

I watched Quarantine last night. I enjoyed it but it wasnt as good as the Original, the first 30 minutes dragged on a bit and I didnt sympathise with the Characters as much as I did with the Spanish one.

I still enjoyed it though.
