I agree - if I ever have to replace that PSU it would be with a better (read quieter) modular one. There are 4 PCs in my office - so I do rank low noise levels quite highly (hence the choice of cases). There's also a 3-way ebay backplane fan controller in there too to wind down the fans as much as I can. CPU idles at around 40 deg C.
Yes - so I can take them out without having to take the back off....
Actually I hadn't thought of it, but may well do that next time I need to rejig things as it would improve airflow.
There's also a DVD drive in there as well along with a StarTech 3.5" hot-dock caddy. That takes up the 2 x 5.25" bays. Any further expansion and I'll be in an external case connected via SAS or equivalent.
According to my other half, I'm pushing the limits of sane, I have one or two computers in regular use. My office is the smallest room in the house and is starting to look like a bond villain's lair, I’m normally up and running with 5 screens.
On my desk;
1. Workstation 1 – EVGA SR2 with Dual hex core xeons @3.8
2. Workstation 2 – i7 920 @3.8
Both on a Dual monitor KVM.
Behind me;
3. Workstation 3 – Qx6700 @ 3.2 on 2 x wall fixed Samsung 22” monitors.
Beside me;
4. Skype/Media player/Web browsing Machine, Core 2 duo @ 3Ghz
5. Network rendering file server – an old 3ghz Prescott P4
6. P3 800mhz runs network rendering manager.
7. HP Brio desktop (Some kind of dual core Celeron)sits gathering dust.
All on an old HP 4 port KVM.
Anywhere they fit;
8. A dell XPS M1530 laptop for presenting.
9. A Samsung P28 laptop running Ubuntu to play with.
10. Asus Epad transformer to cart about the house and to clients.
In the lounge
11. Raspberry Pi as a media streamer & to play with.
12. Xbox 360
13. Wii
Put away for later I have; PS2, Xbox, Game cube, Atari Jaguar, Amiga 1200, 2 spectrums and a ZX81.
I keep boxes and boxes of peripherals and parts in the attic, I can see I’m going to end up on one of those hoarding programmes, but I hate to throw out working tech, and can't be bothered with the hassle of selling it.
The Missus and the children sometimes get use of a laptop and the Wii, but the rest are all mine!

I wish! Work mostly.
3D design, visualising and rendering with a bit of animation thrown in.
I freelance from home so every time I upgrade, the old machine becomes part of the render farm, they soon pay for themselves.

Nothing beats the recognition of one's peers
A question: do work related computers score full geek points? (
I'd say no, if I only used them for work, but they all have steam/origin and a lot of games on them, and they're all overclocked, with gaming graphics cards.
Every time I worked for someone else, they told me didn't need that many computers, so the geek in me is out to prove them wrong...
If I wasn't a geek, I'd have a single workstation, maybe even an apple

Can't imagine why you'd have a system in your toilet. Time on the throne is sacred; you think clearest evacuating your bowls. Being the megalomaniac that i am i don't even allow reading matetial in there.
I can see where you're coming from. You wouldn't want your plans for world domination to be hacked....

My 17 year old regularly uses my laptop. Now I know where the skidmarks come from.

Nothing excluding computers used for commercial purposes being located inside the house.
