Can anyone outgeek me?

Main Rig - 2600k/680
Lenovo y460 laptop (Gaming)
Lenovo Thinkpad (Sits behind TV as media system)
HP Netbook (Not used all that much)
HP Desktop replacement laptop (Used in lounge often)
Lenovo ThinkStation - 2 NICs and used as a router/firewall applicane (pfSense)

That's about it at the moment, so not much. Will be updating the Router/Firwwall system to a beefy i5/SSD machine with expensive Intel Gigabit NICs when I get 1Gbit fibre installed and probably chuck in a NAS or 2 and a Media Server.

May I ask how much the fibre will cost, and what company are you getting it from? Just out of interest. :)

Why? Do you think it impossible to have 11 PCs in one house?
I'll give you this as one of the xbmc systems though (the 330 is in the bottom box):

Yeah very nice setup , I've seen the pic before :)

So I did an inventory the other day of PCs in the house and wondered if anyone had more computers operational in their house... We are a household of 3 and have the following in use daily:

  • i7-2600K @ 4.3G as a "main" desktop.
  • i7-2630QM laptop
  • Intel i5 work laptop
  • AMD Athlon II x4 630 fileserver with 6TB storage
  • Intel E8400 - xbmc/mythtv system
  • Atom 525 based xbmc
  • Atom 330 based xbmc
  • Intel P2100 laptop (kid #1)
  • Intel 8600 laptop (loo system)
  • Intel N2800 used as firewall.
  • Old intel pentium laptop used occasionally as a control PC

Other than the last one, we use 10 PCs between 3 people on a daily basis. Can anyone beat that?

3 pcs next to my AVR setup and 42" IPS panel TV not to geeky you say ? single 2.5 years and I build an paint gundam models for fun. Geeky and a sad to most lol

Around £59.99 a month for 1Gbit down 100Mbit up from Jerseytelecoms (Jersey C.I)

£44.99 for 100Mbit Down / 10Mbit up.

I am waiting for it to be wholesaled to another local ISP who do not have monthly caps however, when it reaches my area that is. (Within the year afaik)

Jersey only of course.
