Trying to find out what this tune is. Much obliged if you're able to tell me what the notes are, or even what the time is.

The first note is F, and it goes up in tones from there to B (assuming it's in the key of C, there's no suggestion otherwise). The second part starts in C and goes up to F. Don't recognise the tune from humming though.

f g a | b a g | a g f f

f g a b a g a g f(hold for 2 notes)

(low) c d | e f e | f e f | c | c |

c d | e f e |f e f | c

I would have to get my recorder out to play it but its at my parents house :(

I did play the violin and have posted the notes because I am impressed that I can still read music anyway... hee hee ;)

Just created a 'sound' in Fruity Loops using that, and I'm not even going to upload it. Whatever it is, it's a generic, boring and dire melody.

As Andelusion said, the 2nd and 4th bars also don't add up.

I was thinking today of how unnessercary it is for a performing rock guitarist to read music. A redundant skill perhaps for such music, unless you are a composer.

I wish I could still do it mind.

Read music perhaps, but understanding music and the concepts behind it is pretty necessary. And if you can do that you tend to be able to read it.

Session musicians need to be able to read music, and there are quite a few of them playing rock
