Can I buy gun officialy if visiting USA as tourist?

oh yeah and you need to own a corporation or trust, or get a local police chief to sign off on your application.

You will have to live there is a us resident, I.e. you need a green card. A non-immigrant US alien cannot purchase a gun under moral circumstances, let alone a tourist.


You cannot even stay in the US over 90 days on a tourist waiver visa.


If you want to go to the US and buy a gun marry an American and wait 2 years for the paperwork to file.

Yes you can purchase a gun if you have a hunting license as has already been stated.

You can get a normal visa, not a tourist waiver visa that allows you to stay for 6 months or more, unless you are going to work/study i the US in which case you can for years.
 
This thread and OP is worrying. Perhaps I could suggest a skipping rope instead.

You cannot seriously think you can just pop over to the USA and buy multiple weapons for protection do you?

Going by your replies on here, if on the odd chance you did manage to buy a weapon off of some dodgy back street guy, i'm pretty certain you would end up shooting yourself within 30 minutes anyhow.

Get some pepper spray if you really are bothered about your safety.

I was considering buying a rifle or pistol when I went over there, but my situation was different; I'd be living there over 3 years; I didn't want it for protection, I wanted it to just go and shoot stuff in the desert; I know what the hell I'm doing :p

When I looked up the rules for myself in my circumstances it appears I could easily purchase a weapon. Love how walmart stock them next to their meat counter too, that was a shock to see!
 
Most injuries and deaths are accidents, not involving other people. So the person who is going to present the most danger to you is yourself. Thus, Arek, for self defence you need to turn the gun on yourself and pull the trigger.

Also, to avoid the 90 days wait... just book the holiday 3 months later than you had planned.
