Can i calim the tax back from a temp job?

It usually gets refunded at the end of the tax year. The HMRC can't predict how much you will work in any given tax year, hence waiting till the end to work out if they owe you anything or not.

I don't know if you can claim it in advance.

Holy lack of pertinent information Batman.

How much did you earn while you were there?
Have you had any other income of any kind during the year?

If you earn under the personal allowance tax threshold of £6,475 in this tax year (April to April) you will be able to claim the tax back. Even if you earn more than this you may be able to claim some tax back depending how much tax you paid during the time you worked, as you should only be taxed on the amount you earn over £6,475.

As others have said, some more info would have been useful....

sorry for the lackof information. from april to april i would have only earned around 700 currently waitng for my final wage slip
