Help!

I currently have my old laptop as a sort of HTPC for DIVX and mp3's, i have it connected via VGA to my HDTV but the tv model is well known to have poor vga and suffers tearing which i cant put up with, i would like to use the HDMI socket on the TV.

Can i go from VGA to DVI to HDMI using the items below?

VGA to DVI adapter

DVI to HDMI adapter

And finally a HDMI cable.

Would this work or not

I think it should. Dunno if there will be a loss in quality or not though. Nothing to say that it shouldn't work!

Sorry... won't work. DVI/HDMI is digital, VGA is analogue. Since most graphics cards scrapped the VGA connector they send the analogue signal over the DVI port, hence why you can use a DVI->VGA adapter in that instance.

Yeah VGA to HDMI won't work, a USB graphics card is probably your best bet.

Ah pants, well it was worth thinking about, time to start saving for a HTPC i think
