Can I get eBay to do something about lack of transaction feedback?

In here and out there.
Not your usual OcUK/eBay story, the transaction was completed perfectly and I left positive feedback for the seller, yet 2 months later and endless amounts of messages to the seller through eBay and he still hasn't completed my feedback.

Is there anything else I can do to give the seller a friendly prod?

Cheers.

I have found that if im selling something, writing at the bottom of your advert "I WILL ONLY LEAVE FEEDBACK UPON THE BUYER LEAVING ME SOME" helps a lot, havent had a no feedback sale since :)

I have sold more than 80 items and yet I have just over 50 feedback (all good)
Nothing you can do about it, I certainly wouldn't try and force someone to leave feedback.

That swings both ways actually.. I buy mostly from eBay and have had several sellers that never leaves any feedback even if i leave them some.. unfortunately there is not much that can be done about it, which already been said above. Maybe eBay should have a system in place that the feedback wouldn't show until both partners has left feedback?

I had this problem aswell a few years back, i asked on the Q&A board and the reply i got back was (and ive seen this said many many times afterwards to other people aswell)

"Feedback is completley voluntary, not compulsory"

Sometimes if I'm slightly unhappy with something then i'll just leave no feedback rather make a point with bad feedback. I mean things like a cheap CD and the case is quite scuffed. That kind of thing.

Fair enough, it appears to be all rather academic at this point anyway, seeing as the seller has finally gotten round to adding the feedback, most probably seconds before I made this thread.

Cheers for the clarification though. :)

Usually business sellers have Selling Manager PRO which you can set to either automatically leave feedback, or leave feedback as soon as the buyer does. I use the second one. Its not as if I could ever leave a neg as a seller!

See, I disagree with this, as a buyer my job is done once I've paid for the item surely, maybe if I notify that it's been received, and hence I tend not to leave feedback until the seller does, unfortunately this means that about a third of my transactions get no feedback to either person...
