Hello,
For occasional gaming, it would be great if I could overclock the two fastest cores of the i9 7900X for use by the game, without preventing my PC from adjusting the clock speed (SpeedStep technology?), if possible.
I've found several sources of instructions/guides, on how to overclock this CPU, but they suggest overclocking all the core simultaneously, which I don't need, and deactivating the automatic adjustment of the clockspeed (SpeedStep), which I would prefer not.
Is this possible? Where can I find some help on the process to achieve a reliable, stable system having 2 cores overclocked?
Thanks in advance.
PS. Example: X-Plane 12 (demo) is CPU-limited and delivers ~30 fps with 8% CPU utilisation and 48% GPU utilisation. In case I could increase to 45+fps, that would be a useful improvement.
