Don't know what I've done but whenever I start up my pc now I immediately get the error

"windows media player network sharing service has stopped working"

with the options to close etc, then if I start playing an mp3 I get

"media foundation protected pipeline EXE has stopped working"

again with the options to close etc but if I close it it carries on playing as normal??

Now I barely use WMP but its irritating to have an error on startup and I'd like to fix/remove it..

If I download WMP11 for xp64 or vista and try and install it says I have a newer version already. So, can I reinstall it or fix it????

I really don't want to have to reinstall windows to fix this, in fact I won't, I'll just live with it bust which is even worse.

try creating a new user account and see if it does it in that one

failing that, use media player classic for videos and winamp lite (without the agent etc) for music
