Hi

I bought a Crucial RealSSD C300 256GB SSD Drive this year from OcUK some months ago and the drive has been working great up until recently when
a lot of drive error has started showing up which means the drive may be on its way out.

I have also noticed that ever since these errors has started showing up, I get a slight pause during drive read and right most times now.

Here is a screenshot of the drive errors:

Is it possible I could RMA my drive because of this and if yes, how would I go about doing this and how long do you think it would take me to get
a new Crucial RealSSD C300 256GB replasment?

Thanks for responding.

I hope this doesn`t affect the RMA but the only thing I have done since purchasing the drive and this was definitely not the cause of the errors was I have updated the firmware on the drive.

First of all does Crucial have any diagnostic software..? I know that OCZ does, in terms of their Toolbox.

Whilst 3rd party SMART type software (like you are using) has a value it might not reporting what is an actual problem, especially with SSD's.

You have noted that it has a lot of drive errors, are these the ones reported or do you actually have physical error on the drive..?

I have a OCZ Vertex 2E and when I will be ready to install W7 x64 again I will secure erase the drive and then install W7 x64 as that would be the best way to return back to its original state. Could your drive need such a thing...?

Have you got the appropriate drivers installed and AHCI mode up and running..?

Check out Crucial's support forums and see if someone else has some suggestions to try. Maybe their own tech support contribute to their forums..?

Yeah some SSDs use different data layouts for SMART so the numbers there may be for something else. I'd use Crucial's official SMART data reader for their SSDs (assuming they have one, I know OCZ do).
