I have used the serial key /code???

If someone purchases it will they be able to use the key and play the game although I have already used it?

I know it maybe a noob question but I really am not sure on this one? As it is a game in which you have to have an online account, so does the key get registered to a particular account?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Key can only be used to set up an account once - so you'd have to supply the username/password you used to set up your account to the buyer. Strictly speaking it's against the EULA to sell your account, however if LOTRO is like every other MMO out there, you won't get caught doing it.

i would assume you just go into account, change to persons e-mail, then change to password they want. they can log in and change both to whatever they want so they know they have control of it i guess.#

you're just going to want to make sure all the card details for paying and stuff are completely gone before you do anything else with it. thing is, once they have the account, and can prove they now own it if they ask for old bills for vat reasons or something, not sure if people can get your details that way or not. I would assume the guys that sell accounts after power leveling and stuff use those gametime cards or somethign along those lines so their details were never on the account in the first place.

Thanks for the replies!
What a carp system! Basically I can't get rid of the thing as don't want anyone to get my details etc...

Absolute madness...

Hardly madness, it's against the T&C's of the game publisher and as such is illegal. Seems fairly sensible to me since you've already used the code.

Its not illegal in the slightest. You can sell the game, the publishers cant stop you, what rights do they have? you've bought it and are free to do what you like with it other than copy it.
Definately not illegal

Of course it's not illegal to sell the game!
But it madness that they tie you in to not being able to sell it as the code has been used....
In otherwords everyone has to buy a new one to play the game, unbelievable...
Swines!

Not the same for your situation, but I remember selling lots of Everquest expansions without the account. So people that downloaded them had a CD version of the game should their download get deleted.

I didn't say selling the game was illegal. I was referring to the selling of your account. It breaks their T&C's and therefore is against the law because you've agreed to a legally binding agreement between you and them and have then broken it. Here, have your rolleyes back
