Can I sell modified hardware on eBay.

My Sennheiser HD555 headphones for example. I modified them into the HD595 phones via a quick well known method. As long as it's mentioned in the description is this okay?

The reason I ask is I'm not sure how different this is to say modding/chipping a console and selling it.

Don't see why not as long as it's clear they've been modified and the buyer understands.

Sadly, this. Can't you sell them on the MM here? You'd be far more likely to find someone who understands fully what you've modded and why...

I'm sure you're fine to sell what you like. Even chipped consoles no? As long as you're not selling pirated games with it...

This will probably end badly for the op.

The person will claim they never read the description where you mention the mod and claim it doesnt match the item (so many buyers never read the description it appears).

You can yes but a lot of people don't read the descriptions, if you've got access to the MM here you'd be better off selling on here.

Sell it on the MM, forget about eBay. Someone that hasn't read your description will buy it and cause you hassle.

be really clear about it

don't winge if you're dumb enough to actually advertise them as HD595 phones with just a brief mention in the description that they're modified

advertise them as what they are Sennheiser HD555 that you've tampered with/modified and be very very clear that you've done that

Yes that's my intention. HD555, with a very clear message that they are modified. Thanks for the reply all. Will checkout the MM after I get some pictures this evening.
