Hi

I was wondering how i would go about adding my laptop as a Media Extender to my main media PC which has all my dvd's and music on it?

Anyone got any idea's

Thanks

I have a Vista Media Center PC (HTPC) and have recently bought a laptop which has Vista Media Center installed, it automatically saw the HTPC and asked if I wanted to share the video/music when I launched VMC. :)

Thanks for the reply but it didnt work :(, basically my Media Pc as software on it called My movies which gives me all of my DVD's, I want to be able to connect to the Media pc the same sort of way that my xbox 360 does so i can then watch all the dvd's that are on my media pc on my lappie.

Can i do this?
Thanks

Yes you can. As long as your lappie has media center on it you should not have any problems. Although for My Movies to work (in an extender way) - you will need to reconfigure My Movies on the HTPC machine (not lappie) to act as a server. If you look at the My Movies website, there is a .pdf you can download which explains how to do it. :)
