Currently I connect my xbox360 to my 32" 720p tv by the HD component lead.

I'd like to use the component input on my tv for something else, so if I get a component to scart connector will it still be in 720p?

My scart input says (RGB) if that makes any difference.

Also is there a HDMI cable for the xbox 360 yet? Would this give better quality?

No it wouldn't work matey,

Does your TV have VGA as the 360 can do HD over VGA as well.

Yes it does, and I am considering that option.

Don't think my TV has it has the scarts state RGB but am I right in thinking there is such a thing as component scart?

and if so would that carry HD?

SCART is SD only. RGB are the seperate colour components, but the syncs are carried by the composite signal over SCART, which is limited to SD.

Don't get the RGB components on SCART confused with Y, Pb, Pr component. They are not the same thing.
