Hi all,

I’m trying for a position at Sainsbury’s called CTS (Customer and trading support) for example I have my boss the department manager and he/she has the deputy manager and then the store manager. I will work under the department manager. Max McAllister (who this is going to) is the personnel manager. I think I need more BS to suck up about to further my career, if someone can proof read and check spelling etc would be handy. I’ve typed this in word and it passes the test etc just making sure :P

Dear Max McAllister,

I am interested in the CTS position for Produce. I moved to fresh foods from checkouts in which I had been serving them for about seven or more years and. I am qualified to use the bailer and pump trucks, and also have knowledge of the shop and how to interact with customers. I am looking to further my career within Sainsbury’s

Yours sincerely

Fixed what I thought was wrong. Not too sure on what it is you're going to be doing, so can't add to it, sorry. :(

I don't like that at all.

Firstly it is either Dear Max (which I doubt is going to be appropriate) or Dear Mr McAllister.

I think that all you need to say after that is "I would like to apply for the CTS role.
Yours sincerely,
Your name."

Just say you want to apply for the job. If he wants to know what you can do, he'll ask your current gaffer. :)

Basically

CTS = I work under my department manager (longer hours, paper work, run a team of people etc) and then after a few courses + years I can then be a department manager.

And im not taking the **** thank you very much , Tru i wish it was that easy but they want a piece of paper saying that i want this position, it sucks big time.

Just in case you're not...try this...

Dear Mr McAllister,

I’m writing to express my interest in the current vacancy of:

CTS position for Produce

I have recently made the move to fresh foods from checkout activities, a position I have both enjoyed and served in for nearly seven years. I would now, however, like to progress my career with Sainsbury’s and take on a more challenging role within the company.

I’m qualified to use the bailer and pump trucks and also have an in depth knowledge of the shop, the shop floor and customer interaction, all of which I would hope, qualify me for consideration for this role.

I understand that this is only an initial approach to you and with that in mind, if I can supply any further details which would assist in my application, I would be happy to supply them,

Many Thanks for you time,

That's what I was suggesting you put in your letter, I know you can't just walk up and ask them for the job!

I'd keep it short but if you want to go into detail, use fangers one.

edit: except don't use 'Many thanks for your time', that's just gay.

Alright - changes...

I have also worked in Fresh Foods for the last 12 months, a role I have enjoyed and taken an active parcipatary role in. – yes, it was me that stopped the potentially lethal Cold Counter “Brie Cheese Scare” only 3 months ago!!! – and that put the ****ing wind up me I can tell you…but all this is beside the point…

i work on produce in the sainsburys whitley bay store, are you sure you want to become a CTS? i got offered the job but refused it as i wouldnt be able to continue my other job. i would strongly recommend speaking to your manager in person and duty managers and even the store manager and make your interest known to everyone. good luck with it though if its really what you want!
