Sorry for any inconvenience but i want to get a photo printed onto a canvas but the subject (flower) would be printed onto the edges, so i need some kind of border added to the image so that the subject fits snug in the middle of the frame. Does that make sense ? :D

Heres the photo: IMAGE

If someone could be so kind to help me by adding 3 differenet sized borders so i can choose the best suited one that would be great. Possibly dark green would be best. The canvas is going to be 40cm wide and 30cm tall.

Hope im not talking rubbish, and thanks allot!

Do you mean that you'd like the image to stop when it begins to fold round the frame of the canvas? If that is the case then we need to know the thickness of the frame. EDIT: actually no we don't... we need to know the size of the media you're printing on to.

If not, and you want to see a white border when you look at it, that can be done pretty easily.

Is it your photo? Do you have any other similar? The stamen in the centre is out of focus and it all looks a bit flat.

Personally I'd be tempted to crop it down, I think the green border detracts from it. Google Georgia O'Keefe, a lot more dramatic when you zoom in close. I've cropped your photo to show you what I mean but it's not a great example because it's out of focus...

As it stands, the flower petals flow over the edge and i dont want that. I want a border added to my photo so that the whole photo covers the canvas and the sides are the border bit. I dont mind if the photo flows over the edge a little, just not loads where the flower itself flows over the edge.

Basically i want all of my photo on the front of the canvas, but when i tried to make it the flower flows over the edges. Maybe a border can be added but so it fades into the photo.

Sorry im struggling to explain here, but im trying my best.
Thanks for your help though.

Mmm right. What size media are you using?

You've already got the photo in 4:3 format so unless you're scaling to fit a big piece of canvas when you print, it should be ok.

Are you wanting something like this? image in centre is 40x30, canvas size is A2 (59.4x42).

Then, when it comes to framing just centre the image on the frame and wrap the excess round the back.

The canvas is going to be 30x40 cm.

If you could just add a massive dark green border that fades slightly into the photo that would be brilliant. I can then just crop it to whatever size suits. So on the edges it would be green and maybe show some of the photo too. Is that possible?

Ok you're being confusing. Is this canvas going to be wrapped round a 40x30cm wooden frame? If so then your 40x30cm piece of canvas is going to need to be bigger to take round the edge. This can either be the photo, printed oversize, so you can see it on the edge, or a white/coloured border.

Or...

Is the canvas going to be 40x30cm, with a photo printed on, borderless, right up to the edge, and once you receive this you're going to make a frame that the canvas will fit round, i.e. frame may be 35x25cm.

Personally... a coloured border will look horrible, a dark green one even more so... But if that is what you want then here you go;) Yuck! Edit: imageshack has resized it. If that's what you want give me somewhere I can upload it and I'll send you high res.

Don't want to sound harsh but I really dont think the photo is worth spending £60 or however much it is going to cost you on printing... But that's just me.
