Can someone spec me a better one-man tent than a TNF Particle?

As title. I want a one-man tent and this is the best I have found so far BUT I am a Berghaus/North Face whore so think I should at least make an effort to find something else before I press buy...

No bivis, no storm shelters - as hilarious as both these products are

Might be a silly question but... Why buy a 1-man tent?

How often do you camp alone? Surely a 2-man would be more useable yet still being good enough for you on your own? :)

I can only assume it makes a much bigger difference than you may think when you have to schlep it around about your person, as opposed to grabbing it out of the boot of your car.

Surely they're not that much bigger?

I haven't looked at the figures, but there will be half as much material again, same with tent poles etc. It all adds up, and when you're trekking for a week carrying your own tent, weight is a major factor.

I bought a Terra Nova Laser Competition (From Taunton Leisure) a couple of weeks ago, been out and about in the Cairngorms with it...

Can't beat it for weight (890g), plenty room inside (could take 2 at a squeeze), it's not a single-skin, but has a proper inner, decent sized porch, and in my humblest of opinions, Terra Nova make the best tents in the world.
