ok well it should be in the bios... put up some screenies of what u can see a lot of the time u have to select manual settings and this allow u to see the more useful options, i think maybe u should read through some of the guides at the top of the overclocking pages.

u will want to lock the pci-e bus to 100mhz.

u shouldnt be able to increase the multi on the cpu anyway as amd will have it at the max. u will want to increase the fsb on the ram, lower the htt from 5x(1000mhz) to 4x(800) then when u go over 300mhz fsb u want to use 3x(600) on the htt.

when u get bsod etc then increase the cpu voltage till its stable if needs lots of voltage then give up there.

also when finiding the limit of the cpu u will want to run the memory on a divider so it is not a factor have it on 266 or 133 whatever is most stable for u.

then after finding cpu max play with the divider and multi on cpu to see what gives u the best result. good luck have fun.

well basically i get no options to change the fsb of the cpu or ram or i cant change the multiplier of the cpu or the mhz there are no options for this at all would this mean i cant overclock or is there a way to open these options up in the bios

When you go into your bios what do you see. I found an online manual and from the pictures in it there should be five tabs along the top of the screen:
Main, Advanced, Power, Boot and exit. Assuming you have the same bios as the one I have just been looking at all overclocking is done under the advanced tab but be sure to read the guide at the to of the the Overclocking and Cooling section before actually attempting anything and take it slow.

link to pdf of the manual.

thanks very much broon but im afraid the wen i go into my cpu configuration it will not let me change the cpu frequency. is there a reason for this at all. it does nto actually show the cpu frequency. also just went back into the bios and go to chipset and and dram configuration and it wont let me change the ram settings either do i need a bios update at all. because i bought the computer pre built would this mean i cannot overclock.

You may need to flash your bios as described in the manual. This can go seirously wrong however and I would recommend visiting the ASUS site and searching google for information before doing anything.

its ok now i sorted it and ive started overclocking very slowly well i got a mate whos helping me to do it properly
