Can u X fire 2 different brands of card

just wondered if u could x fire say a sapphire 4870 and a XFX 4870 or do they have to be the same make and model

you can use different sizes of memory, though the 1 Gb card will only use 512 Mb of G-RAM, so you may as well save a little money and get a 512 Mb version.

I remember if people has two different brand cards they used to flash the second card with the BIOS of the first? . . . . was there some advantage in doing this?
