I'm moving away from 3 in about 2 weeks time and the deal that i'm thinking of at the moment is on o2:

£35/month
600XN mins
100Texts
inc. Long weekends
K800i

This deal is available through O2 offline. Would i be able to haggle for more minutes or freebies like a BT headset etc.. or do O2 not entertain this?
If so, what would be my best approach?

Thanks
:)

Yes you can haggle.

If you speak to someone either ina shop or on the phone. It is easy actually.

The people in the shops are the easiest, as they get a hefty commision when then sell a phone & contract, so are willing to haggle too.

You can easily get a free BT headset, or cash back, or a cheaper phone. Just pretend to be really interested, but then say you are not sure and attempt to walk out. They will then offer you more & more to get you to stay and buy something. Just don't accept any offer until you think it is the best offer they can give you...

Love to haggle with O2 !!

Been doing so for the last 3 years.

Got them down to the talk 500 package for £15 per month ! :D

 What's your secret?

I think someone is sleeping with someone really high up;)

I guess to get such a good deal it involves upgrading when the contract runs up?

I have one old contract with t-mobile for £3.99 p/m for 750mins of peek to t-mobile and landlines + 150 free texts.

Snap :)

Last August I got 500 xnet mins 500 texts a free SE w800i o2 Gold insurance for £19.99/month :D

Trouble is - they keep guffing my bill up and every few months I have to ring them up and get a bloody refund..

Absolutely , they always mess up your bill , but the beauty of them doing that is they always compensate you for messing it up.

This month was supposed to move over to the new tarriff , charged me the old one , so they refunded me £45 plus my voice call and text charges.

I take two handsets from them ( so 2 numbers ) one for me and one for the g/f and come accross as someone who uses a lot of air time , but in reality it's just two peoples usage bundled into one !!

This time I just said I wanted to take advantage of their promo offers for new customers ( 6 months double minutes and texts ) and felt I was being penalised for being a loyal ( sic ) customer.

Retentions always sort me out , so I stick with them.

I now never just accept what they offer me, always play them off against other networks.
