Can you play PS1 games on a psp?

Thinkin about my hol with the missus in june and was thinkin how awesome it would be to put FF7 on a Duo card to play on the plane/coach/while she sunbathes.

is this do-able or not?

As of this date the answer is no, Sony have stated that a future firmware release will incorporate a PS1 emulator with a full downloadable back catalog which will be sweet as ever but it aint coming anytime soon (possible very late '06)

yeah Elrein is rite. i had a look in to it a few months ago but got nowhere.pitty there are loads of cool games that i would love to play in it
