Yes i can smell it.

I can also feel when its about to rain.

I can sence it in the change of wind and weather.

Well I can usually smell the dampness on the wind like someone above said. Usually wet tarmac or some wet woods or something.

You can't smell rain itself (water is odourless), but you can smell dampness (eg of trees), if thats what you meant?

If you know what you are sniffing for you can smell a sort of freshness about the air that comes about 5 to 10 mins before it rains :)

your not smelling rain, your smelling the effects of it, disturbance and settlement of particles. the change in air coolness, which makes it smell fresher.

So yes you can smell rain, but its not the rain smellig, if you get what I mean

That's true, although it's not always there. It has to be the right sort of storm.

I know what ya mean.

The temperature usually drops a few degree about 5-10 mins before it rains :)

Mum can feel it in her bones and aching muscles about 2 or 3 days before it rains aswell :p
If her bones that she had broke before ache or her muscles and joints get all stiff and sore it normally means rain is around the corner.

I have no idea how that works or happens though

Bacteria in the soil produce spores in damp weather. The force of the rain kicks the spores up into the air and they act sort of like an aerosol. That's the smell after rain. :)

the smell of fresh grass cuttings is always good, as for rain, yes i can usually "smell" the damp in the air just before it rains. i guess.. petrol for the win.
